Here is weird weather for me. Last week it was -30c or less for the last two weeks. Even with the sub zero The small river by me r started to flow like it’s spring the snowblower I keep on my rink is 2ft under water and a new layer of ice now. Yesterday it rained there was 1” of ice on all the highways and every highway was shut down . And it’s -25c again. Also we have as much snow As we used to get in the 80’s when I was a kid (aka tons)
Lightning strikes 8 million times a day on earth. So, 35,000 doesn’t seem like all that much, relatively.

Doesn't Australia average about 50,000 lightning strikes per day though? And that's a conservative estimate I believe.
