On the morning of 20 February 2022, the Ukrainian army attempted to break through the defence lines of the LPR People’s Militia near the village of Pionerskoye after crossing the Severski Donets River. The People’s Militia prevented this breakthrough by firing on Ukrainian troops. The latter shelled the village of Pionerskoye, destroying five houses, one of which caught fire, killing the two poor civilians who were still sleeping inside.
Against the backdrop of the increasing bombardment of the Ukrainian army against the two Donbass republics, the evacuation of women, children and elderly people to Russia continues, both by road and by rail. General mobilisation has also been declared in both the DPR and the LPR, and volunteers (men and women) are flocking to the military registration offices to join the ranks of the people’s militia.
But it was not only the territory of the two republics that was bombed by the Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian army fired several times on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On 19 February 2022, the Ukrainian army fired two Grad multiple rocket launchers (122 mm) into nearby Russian territory, not far from Stanitsa Luganskaya, and the LPR front line.
One of these rockets fell on a farm on the outskirts of the village of Mitiakinskaya, as can be seen in these photos, fortunately without causing any casualties:
