Well, to be technically correct, Ukraine is not a member of NATO and NATO has obligations only to other members of the alliance. Specifically, the Article 5 of the agreement states that if one member nation is attacked, then all of the member countries have been attacked. Since Ukraine is not a member of NATO, the NATO countries have not been attacked by definition, therefore why escalate the regional war between Russia and Ukraine into a global conflict?
