is this faked? the thing that gets me about all the videos i've seen is how everyone is wearing colored tape around their arms and helmet. only seen that in exercises, not in actual combat.
I watched a video played by a news network that was claiming to show "on the ground" reporters. The "reporters" are crouching behind a brick building. Across an empty road is a tree and behind it is another abandoned brick building. You can see forest beyond. It doesn't even look like a small town. You hear "gunfire" all around but see no signs of bullets hitting anywhere. The reporters are yelling into the camera about how dangerous the scene is. Random people go running by.
The camera peers around the corner and focuses on the tree across the road. Moments later a car comes screeching down the road and then parks perfectly behind the tree. In the middle of gunfire a family with kids ABANDONS a functioning car in gunfire on an empty road and starts running for NO reason. They just take off down the road as the reporters continue to plea for Ukraine.
It was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. It look like they were filming at an abandoned camp rather than in a town or city. I suspect someone wanted to make sure they had "heartbreaking" footage ready to go in order to influence the masses. It's obvious propaganda.
No one gives up a functioning car in gunfire. It's propaganda. They're trying to push public opinion in one direction.
Yup. Just double checked this. Indiatoday has a good write up on it: https://www.indiatoday.in/fact-check/story/did-ukraine-president-don-army-uniform-to-fight-against-russian-troops-1918333-2022-02-26
