The Fed is backed by "our individual and collective ignorance". Until we learn, nothing stops.

The "thin air" idea is popular, but doesn't properly convey how they continue to live high on the hog while the ignorant man slaves away his time and energy to enable it. If we knew what was going on, it would come to an end overnight.
