Global food war will begin in earnest later this year.
Ukraine provides 70% of the corn imported by Western Europe. Ukraine is the major regional food producer. Unfortunately... crops require fertilizer. They require irrigation.
When imports to Ukraine are cut off, banking is shut down, electricity may be cut off, young men are off fighting and others are fleeing... agriculture is disrupted. Europe's bread basket may get pretty thin this year.
Russia has also been largely cut off... same deal applies. Transportation and fuel costs are rising due to the conflicts. That makes shipping grains and food stuffs more expensive.
The bottom of the barrel will feel it first. When food becomes expensive and in short supply, no nation (with any common sense) will donate food to others. Some countries may even limit or prohibit food exports. That places nations like Haiti and many African nations in a pickle. We all know what will happen next.
Mainstream media will just shut off the cameras and NOT report on the famines taking place in those 3rd world areas. Out of sight... out of mind.
Food shortages, and possibly a global blackout. When chaos, and panic reaches its peak, the Klaus Schwab and his demons will be there to offer a plan to provide food and security to the masses. They will ask you to trade your freedom for food, and the illusion of security.
We have some very powerful groups, and well placed people fighting on the side of the good against this evil also, and I believe God's side will prevail.
Good reminder. Many of us are already prepared, but probably not all.
Agreed... I think the bastards will use rationing food, fuel etc as a further reason we need a cattle brand QR code to herd us to full social credit score slavery if they possibly can... hill to die on in defense of a life worth living!!
Only the goy need worry, kosher foods will always be plentiful if you have the mark.
This could be an interesting move to go after Monsanto?
PLEASE ASSUME YUGE FOOD SHORTAGES ARE COMING
If you're new to prepping and on a budget, I'd stockpile breakfast cereal, long life milk or milk powder, ramen noodles, cans of baked beans or similar such as canned chili con carne or stew and lots of tubs of peanut butter.
If the SHIF and breadlines become the new normal then peanut butter sandwiches can become a perfect high calorie meal with some protein.
Start small and buy enough of ^^^^^^ these items to last your family for two weeks.
DO NOT buy instant coffee or coffee whitener because as much as your instincts compel you, if SHTF you will not care about such luxuries. Even if you have a gas cooker with plenty of gas canisters, I guarantee you won't be wasting gas on luxuries like coffee or tea unless you have invested in solar ovens or if you are trying to comfort children with hot chocolate.
After that, buy a big bag of rice, lots of instant mashed potato powder, some boxes instant gravy powder and invest a $20 into a gas cooker and also buy six gas canisters, a gas lighter, matches, lots of tealight candles, a small battery powered radio, a small battery powered floodlight, some cheap drink coasters and the cheapest whisky glasses you can find...
...now your family can enjoy hot dinners even if the power goes out and you can light candles and listen to the radio which will be FAR superior to having all of your family sitting silently in the dark. Put the tea light candles in the whisky classes and put a coaster under them so the heat doesn't ruin your furniture.
You'll also want to buy some bottled water. If your family drinks fizzy drinks, start collecting those empty bottles and filling them with tap water - you'll need it for washing dishes but it can also be treated... perhaps we'll get to that stage later if people are interested. I recommend adding blue food coloring to treated water so nobody is every confused. If it's not blue then DO NOT drink it.
I can keep going and talk about weapons and fish antibiotics and horse-paste, how to cook perfect rice with almost no heat.
All the cereals, instant potatoes, flour must be frozen first. Store in jars with bay leaves. If you don't your pantry will be overrun with pantry moths.
Coffee? I've lived through SHTF. I NEEDED coffee. I found a way to get it. It helped.
If you want to waste a family meal's worth of gas cooker resource on a luxury like hot coffee then your opinion is moot: you have no idea what you're talking about.
I had no gas. I brought my coffee maker to a nearby sewage plant where they had power. I made enough to share with the military who were guarding the streets. Later, I built a small fire and made coffee in an enamel pot.
And I presume you cooked rice and heated family meals and stews in your small fire enamel pot for months?
During those months of single-handedly providing hot coffee to the military from a small fire enamel pot, did you also feed all the troops too, from your small fire enamel pot?
Didn't eat rice. Why do you feel the need to argue?
Thanks for all the helpful info.
My wife got hooked up with a lady that gets the excess food products that local businesses give out. They get truck loads of stuff, and seek to give it out to people in need. They get so much stuff, that they can't give it all away, so we get to keep lots of it, and get first pick.
I have boxes of rice, dry milk, canned goods, pasta, grits and oatmeal, cereals all kinds of stuff that will last a while. I also bought three months worth of Ready Hour, 25 year life survival food. I got three to feed so that is a months worth, but I would also work to get food as though I had none.
If your like me, you have relatives in area that you are warning to stock up, and they think your crazy. When shit get tight, and their bellies get empty, are the going to expect us to feed them. The answer is yes, and we will have to provide them something. So we not only have to stock up for ourselves, but get some extra for others. I want be giving out my best. And if it come to it, they will starve before my family does.
I need to be out planting a garden now instead of sitting on this computer. People that think you can wait until the lights go out to plant a garden know nothing about gardens, that they don't produce food over night. Get a nice potato crop planted, the rains come, the ground floods, and you got nothing but mush. Plant some beans, and the bugs eat all you plants.
And I want to build a chicken coop to have some eggs to eat and barter with. I think raising rabbits would also be a good idea. Start with two rabbits and soon you'll be overrun with them.
God help those living in the inner-cities, they will become like war zones. If you haven't seen this, it give a nice prospective to geography.

I hope the inner city people can act quickly and convert parkland into farmland with armed guards. Yes, we have dark days ahead.
Great article and comments from everyone...get prepared frens.
