Saw a bill was passed a little over an hour ago to end Daylight Savings Time…now, if I wanted to describe the pros and cons to crayon eater, what would said pros and cons be?

I’m so sick of daylight savings time! Completely useless! I don’t want or need daylight at 9pm, but I was enjoying the morning light - now back to darkness!
but we will now have permNent daylight savings. that iS what the bill is. leaving stanard time.
Someone else posted that it was just the opposite, that it was made permanent?
Anyway, a period of darkness (nighttime) is intrinsically important to the health and sleep patterns of humans. We need that 'winding down' time for our bodies - with at least a few hours of darkness before we go to bed. When it's still light at 9:00 pm, we don't get that. It's also difficult for children to go to bed when it's light out and will be light for at least another hour to hour and a half.
It also means that we're getting up in the dark again, in the morning.
On the "Plus" side, if you're a politician who doesn't care what your constituency wants, it means a lot more shopping and spending of money, which means more sales tax. The end.
Source: me and my 2 cents.
When I was a kid, walking to the bus stop in the dark during winter was normal.
As an adult, if my choice is driving to work with day light or having another hour to enjoy at the end of my day I will take option 2.
I get its not ideal situation for everyone but I would bet most people HATE switching their clocks twice a year and would prefer more daylight in the afternoon.
I agree. I's better to drive in the morning dark when you're fully rested than driving in the evening dark after a long day's work.
I really hate daylight savings time. I just want time to stay as one standard time. I'm glad we won't have to spring forward or fall back anymore, but I don't know why it couldn't just be standard time.
Who are all the people that enjoy daylight savings? Not me.
HATE IT,HATE IT, REALLY HATE IT.
Pros: Darkness to LIGHT
The redhead gets it!
I need to stay on this time YEAR ROUND, otherwise my cat 🐈 wakes me (and the neighbors) up too early howling for breakfast. Then he begins pestering me for dinner at 3:00 in the afternoon. Far too early!
He does not care one bit about “falling back” in the Fall. You’d think he would adjust but no, he demands a tight schedule. It’s irritating changing my clock when the cat KNOWS what time it really is.
xcept they are making daylight savings time permanent. Darker in am, lighter in pm. Works great for those that dont get up for work or school and like to stay out late.
I am glad there will be no time change, but this should have been done for standard time not DST.
messes with circadian rhythms serves no purpose as most of us are up before light and go to bed after dark too much dark time in the a.m. and not enough in the evening to get normal sleep it's not normal
how's that for simplifying?
Is this an attempt to get ahead of the coming energy crisis? By staying on DST peak power usage will fall in line with available daylight and the whopping 3% of the grid that is currently solar powered. Just a thought on why now?
I would have to find the study, but IIRC, corporations save more with the changes across the year, while families lose out, on the electricity expenditure. Essentially they were showing how it was a transfer of cost from bosses to employees.
Also, the changes are unnatural and particularly difficult for children and pets, stressful for adults and harmful for teens whose diurnal patterns naturally shift later while completing their physical and mental growth.
Increased stress on working adults shows in the general population through spikes in heart attacks, GI diseases and neurological issues. These waves are blamed on seasonal or weather changes, but apparently coincide with these corporate artificial clock resets.
