So, he had a make-shift bomb and is known to be a member of a terrorist group, but he's not being held without bail in the DC jail for 13 months, is he?
I know, right! All I think about then I read stuff like this is how innocent people (Jan 6/Canadian Freedom Convoy organizer) get maximum punishments for absolutely nothing.
Interesting...possession of explosive devices is a felony. This sentence sounds more like possession of fireworks than an explosive device. There are both Federal and State laws that restrict the possession of any explosive device. Fireworks fall under a set of guidelines that limit the amount of explosive material allowed. Anything beyond that is considered an explosive device. The parameters for explosive devices was not met by the material this guy had. He will be a person of interest in the future if he doesn't discontinue this type of behavior, but in the mean time he gets a close call and hopefully wakes him up that playing revolutionary is not a great idea.
Yep, I saw that. They didn't count it as a destructive device. They said it would have mostly produced smoke when it was tested. I am wondering if he was just grossly incompetent and didn't know how to make a more destructive device or if he was just trying to incite fear. Funny, if you wade into a public gathering with a fake gun, they still throw the book at you. I guess he didn't use any of the devices, which is why he received a light sentence. Let's hope he doesn't escalate with. More dangerous devices in the future

Why is this world so upside-down?

Criminals are in control of our DOJ.
And every other department.
Was this federal or state court?
If I was Ron Desantis I'd place a bounty on his head and prosecute the judge who let him free

either that or he was some judges nephew.....
It was determined that he was not carrying anything that would have exploded. Would have emitted smoke only.
...the Jan 6 guys were not afforded that benefit of a doubt....
Maybe they will give him millions of dollars too. Like the BLM rioters!
