This awesome young lady either missed the memo saying "white people bad", or most people aren't racist and they've been lying to us. I wonder which one it is.
Southerners, black and white, see through that race baiting bullshit better than the rest of the country. In the Deep South, Blacks aren't 13% of the population, they're like 30-40%. And majority Christian. White and blacks have been living and working side by side there for decades at this point. So everybody knows lots of people of the other race.
Agreed. Growing up as a Hispanic in Georgia, I never understood racism. I had all kinds of classmates and friends, from white to black, Indian to Asian. I never witnessed racism until I started paying attention to politics and wore a certain red hat 😉
I’ve noticed that as long as I’m respectful, so will others, and if I’m an asshole, so will others. And it goes the same way the other way around. Skin color is a description, not a lifestyle or a privilege, at least in my neck of the woods.
I once sent Walmart an email complimenting one of their employees for exceptional customer service. Someone from corporate called me back and told me that associate was recognized by their manager for my compliment. That made my day, since I, too, work for a large retailer.
I tried to submit feedback for a stellar Wendy's employee but their site basically makes you give all kinds of marketing crap multiple-choice stuff before just submitting your feedback.
(And actually, I did this for a gal at Carl's Jr - another really well-run location - and it was easy and fast.)
(What am I doing at these places, you ask? Typically fast food after gym. Like keeping the balance of the universe or something. If that smells too much like sweat if not patchouli, well, DJT likes his fast food too.)
I would have swiped the groceries. In this day and age, it's too strange to approach someone with this sort of solution. Kudo's to the employee though, because this is nice to see.
Yeahh, everyone assumes you're a creeper and we have to avoid each other at all costs. Kinda weird, as an introvert who always wanted to be outgoing and help people I only gained the inspiration and motivation to improve myself and try to help my peers in a post pandemic world.
Talk about shitty timing that kicks my confidence in performing any act of kindness in the sack.
Meanwhile the post completely ignores the fact that cash registers used to have a person behind it ringing the groceries up eliminating the need for a consumer to do it.
Perhaps in the self checkout aisle - Walmart has made it "against rules" for employees to do the checking out. How many customers would decide they were incapable of doing it themselves? The employee resolved the issue without opening a can of worms imo. This is purely speculation on my part but I can see where checking someone out once could be problematic down the road.
Wal-Mart has been hard set on removing all cashiers, some areas they have gotten away with it and others the people will just leave full carts of groceries at the self checkouts and leave.
theres 3 walmarts I currently stop at and ive noticed the poorer the area the less likely theres any cashiers.
The self checkouts have limits as to how many groceries you can purchase (though not super enforced) and self checkouts have high rates of theft. Most will still have cashiers, but not many.
And they do the "can I see your receipt" shit. I don't need to make a scene so when asked I just do it, but technically once you've bought stuff it's your property so they can go fuck a lake. All because they're down to 2 live checkers so even the massive new self-checkout feedlot is backed up.
Because she went to the self checkout line instead of the regular ones for some strange reason? That woman is responsible for every kiosk in that area so they're not supposed to be a clerk. It's nice she took the risk of dealing with some shitty manager because she's not supposed to hold a kid either but why are you guys upvoting some overwhelmed woman that chose a self checkout line because it's shorter when she knew it was a poor choice?
Maybe it is like one of our Walmarts here where there are only 2 cashier's checkouts and they are rarely ever opened anymore so the only option IS self-checkout at walmart. Our biggest name grocery store has moved to the same format at one of their stores where they have far more self-checkouts and rarely any of the cashier's checkout registers are open unless there are massive lines and managers call them to counters.
I’m sure 96% of people are, we’ve just all been conditioned to think we’re each other’s enemy over whatever arbitrary and shallow differences we see in each other.
The person with the camera is (intentionally or unintentionally) creepy as hell. Don't take pictures of other people's babies in public without their permission.

That's what I've seen too. I live in Texas and the school my kids graduated from is about 30/30/30 Black/White/Hispanic.

Many years ago -- no one would have ever noticed this act of kindness.
We didn't have fucking Walmart and a teenager would be checking out your groceries for you.

Please let Walmart know about this lady.☺️
This deserves more upvotes!

Lol hitting up tacobell after 2 miles on the treadmill sounds like my kinda Wednesday

An act of kindness in the sack 😉, or kicking your confidence in the sack?🤭
My confidence in performing acts of kindness!
Saw someone bitched out for holding a door open for someone else, like what the heck?
That happened to me in college. "I can open it myself, thanks.." so I closed it on her.
Same here, I’m trying to get out more and just be friendly to other lonely souls in this world! Friendliness and happiness radiates, Frens!!
Don't give up. We need you!

There is a good chance that they know each other.
You're probably right.

Just say "No you may not, have a nice day"
I thought that as well. Also, many people like to process/pack themselves.
More kindness needed. THANK YOU Ke'Mya Wilson for going above and beyond! ❤️
Thats awesome. Gods light does shine 🤩
Being nice makes the time go faster. Smart people know it.
she can get it
Yeah she is quite a looker. Kind and thoughtful too, it seems.
Is the employee named Ke'Mya Wilson? Any verification that this is her name? She deserves some recognition and positive reinforcement.
All I see is cultural appropriation. REEEEE!
Why didn’t the employee swipe the groceries? I mean she works there right? Why do we have to do it?
Because she went to the self checkout line instead of the regular ones for some strange reason? That woman is responsible for every kiosk in that area so they're not supposed to be a clerk. God Bless Her, what a beautiful thing to see! There really are wonderful loving folks left in this world!

Great point, I need reminding often.
Customers can do this too. Especially if you know the person at all.
ok great, but maybe let the Mom hold the kid, and you swipe the groceries?
Maybe mom wanted a short break from the kids :)
Hey I just thought of a great job for Seniors. Like the Walmart Greeter but the Walmart Baby holder. Sign me up ASAP!
Joe Biden has entered the chat
Great idea!
no you can't hold a white supremacist baby, you're black you must drop that white supremacist, REEEEE.
-A Libtard
Lol very nice.... but maybe she could have just... rang her out.
Imagine if they just hired people to run the cash registers.
I am very lucky to have had a good Mom. To all of those great Moms?
Thank you and God bless your family!
Walmart…blue and yellow…hmm
The person with the camera is (intentionally or unintentionally) creepy as hell. Don't take pictures of other people's babies in public without their permission.
Just, no.
Now you are just being silly. The good deed was being recorded not a pedo pic. Not everyone is Joe Biden.
