The thing about communism is that it's dog eat dog and there's just no loyalty.
If she ever got her way and communism was installed, she would find that she was no longer useful and they didn't respect her. That's a fatal combination.
I'm a public librarian and this doesn't surprise me. Librarians have always been pretty liberal but the last 10 years it's gotten even worse. Equity, white fragility and stating your pronouns are big with librarians and influence a lot of decisions that get made.
Hey there based librarian. I'm a public library director. We are all based in my town, but yes you are absolutely correct in your statement. I came on board in March 2021 and by May toss the masks to the wayside. There are still plenty who are slowly letting go of it and some are still quarantining books. Stupid people.
Libraries are tax-funded public spaces where people can read books, watch movies, play video games, borrow instruments, use the internet, attend lectures, conduct research, and otherwise use public services without paying a cent.
They’re about as typical of a socialist-type service as you can get. Having a Marxist in charge isn’t going to reduce profits of libraries or anything.
Eh, that’s an understandable fear, but one that assumes a great amount of authority in the ALA. It’s not a governmental body, it’s an organization that advocates for librarianship.
And I don’t often speak in absolutes, but if the American Library Association starts advocating for the banning of legal material in any way, I will eat something gross. Librarianship as a field is on the freedom-side of every censorship fight I can think of, and even whether or not they should allow public access to pornography as a form of protected speech remains still a somewhat contentious issue in library academia.
I understand. Like I said, the ALA doesn’t really have authority to do anything to a library, and they are annoyingly consistent in being anti-censorship.
And that is despite the fact that librarianship doesn’t really attract capitalists and never has. Libraries are “Marxist” institutions. They are tax-funded service providers that do not operate at a profit.
If they didn’t already exist, I suspect little chance that most fiscal conservatives would be supporting their implementation.
Well, they existed before we called socialism “socialism”, but any that were established as a free community service was still operating under a socialist mindset, no?
If you’re talking about ancient libraries, those were generally for the rulers and aristocracy, not the public. The only people who could afford to become scholars and literate were those from the upper-class. So that’s a hard comparison to anything modern.

Yes, although it might be called a philanthropic mindset.
I think that most people here for example are not socialist (I am an ex leftie for example), but most people here would be pro-library in principle I guess.
I'm pretty sure there would be libraries available which are provided by non socialists. Roads won't disappear either.
People who are not socialist are still generally community minded, they just want choice over how they contribute.
Socialists want to force people to contribute to a system they did not agree to, it doesn't mean that non socialists won't contribute. They will.
/u/propertyofUniverse is probably familiar with "socialist anti-censorship" which seeks not to show the public the truth of the Holocaust, what really happened to Russia/Khazaria, or anything the socialists want hidden. It pretends to fight censorship by pushing pornography on children.
Certainly u/propertyofUniverse wonders what knowledge the cabal has hidden away in the Vatican, the Smithsonian and other cabal institutions.
Perhaps 90% of our history and knowledge has been stolen from us by the cabal and replaced by outright lies.
There's an American Library Association??? Why would it be needed? I assumed libraries are local and ran by local town folks vs. reporting up to some big organization. I need to wake up. Everything is corrupt.
Of course it looks like that.
Yeah that’s pretty much the picture I would draw in my head if you gave me the worlds “Marxist lesbian librarian”
Hahahahahahaha!!!
Yucky.

Libraries also seemed to be the first to adopt and last to let go of all the covid theatre rules.

that Pepe is awesome.
Elected or appointed?
Serious question: at what point does a country that values freedom take steps to remove people who do not value freedom?
A philosophical quandary...
All free and just societies need a communist purge every so often if they want to survive.
Commies aren't people
What does this change?

This is a reasonable question. The thing I can think of is censorship and surveillance.
Now featuring more tranny!

Perhaps that's why it matters who is in charge now. We are in an information war, the cabal won't leave a sector uncensored if they can help it.

Libraries existed before socialism.
Maybe they would be privately funded, or maybe they would have fees. I don't know.

Good point. 👍

We don't even know how much we don't know.
Didn’t even know libraries still existed.

They are counting on loosing twat and are retreating back to where they started.
It looks like Bill Gates as a burn victim
