Check this code repo page is https://github.com/twitter/the-algorithm
This was created yesterday (it was blank, like any newly created repo) and then deleted today.

For the non-coders, essentially twitter has a bunch of open-source code repositories. Basically all the (crappy) code that they so graciously share with the world - obviously not their core codebase or algorithms.
After Elon bought Twitter, someone created a new code repository called "the-algorithm". This would be a standard procedure, if say, Twitter decided to make their algorithm public (open source). They would create the repo, and then you will see it getting populated. (They could do it all in one go as well - both ways are common).
However 12 hours or so later, the repository got deleted. Creating and deleting a public repository is highly visible, and developers usually dont do that on the same day unless there is a good reason.
One explanation? One group in twitter decided to get ready to release the algorithm. And then another group vetoed it and deleted it.
Careful. Public domain is NOT the same thing as Open Source.
