Sounds nuts I suppose. But maybe I'm not the only one to have this experience. We planted 15 samplings (45 to go for this year!) yesterday and it was really amazing how it shifts perspective.
We did it as a family. Some of us prayed and "talked" to the plants or the ground -- sounds funny I suppose, but it was really interesting to hear our different instincts led us to connect with nature and ultimately our Creator.
A little reminder for me I wanted to share with you that we are all part of something much larger than is usually discussed.
In my lifetime I've planted probably 100 trees. As a child I was inspired by Johnny Appleseed- real name Jonathan Chapman.
More recently I learned he was all about the "Cider" he was encouraging.
Here is a brief bio that leaves out the "cider". http://touringohio.com/profiles/johnny-appleseed.html
oh very very cool! i will check this out!
my husband is a tree guy, has brought many to fruition from a seed or a fallen baby branch, that sort of thing.
thanks for the info!
