If he had any brains to begin with, he would understand what higher education actually meant.
The higher education I have received was wonderful. I learned a lot, but then, higher education makes you responsible for what you learn. So if you get an assignment to write a paper and they want 15 sources listed, I would put 60 sources, or when I had to write a paper on an obscure manuscript, I took it out to 47 pages. I took on projects that were very difficult, and why? Because I wanted to learn! And I did. So, many here put down higher education, but it is what you make of it. If you want to be educated, you go looking for things you have never yet encountered. So, you cannot say degrees are meaningless. For me, they were the route to professional performance my fields. Unless you have toiled in the depths of knowledge, you will never know the satisfaction of "owning" knowledge, and you might be dependent upon others. When you learn for yourself, you're all set!!
