It's not expensive for the birth mother. She typically gets quite a handsome sum even though she likely has insurance and or state funding to deliver. It's crazy expensive for the people who want to adopt. Praying for home studies, legal fees, agency fees, and paying the birth mom's "expenses". I'd adopt in a heart beat, but we cannot afford it.
