Yes, that was a proper response, thank you both- for bringing it up and responding.
I was 26 km away from powerstation, in direction of the fumes, during the weekend when fire started. Early spring, so we were tanning on the lake. Communist government tried to hide it from people for almost 2 weeks, so Soviet media kept silent, only "dissidents" heard from Sweden, then from "Voice of America", that something happened, and KGB had another round of hunting the "rumors" (think MSM with FBI and Hunter's laptop or 2000 mules -- crickets for public and raids and defamation of 'disinformation dozen' etc. Got it?). Conscripts in about 11th day.
All 15 tanners of us got serious healt problems, mine were and are the easiest. Just a reason I keep reacting on word Chernobyl. Plus recognizing how exactly the same playbook is always used. Commies remain commies through all time, space, dimensions; under every label they try to hide behind.
That was a proper response, thank you.
Or perhaps no actual large scale disaster.
In any case, the result is the same. A safe space away from prying eyes due to its perception as a toxic zone.
