Ears are laid back out of the blue and my cats won't leave our sides. Never in the 14 years we have had them... Edit for my location. This is still happening. Middle Tn

You sound like a fun person.

30
SpaceManBob 30 points ago +30 / -0

Fun fact: A person's ranking on the fun spectrum is directly tied to how many goats they own.

12
InarosPrime 12 points ago +12 / -0

So you're saying 9/11 could have been avoided if those terrorist just had some goats?

8
DC_Rogue 8 points ago +8 / -0

Many of the people in my neighbourhood include arab sheiks and British diplomats/operatives/brass, so it's important for the locals to not leave goats or little boys outdoors.

2
Warrior_of_Virtue 2 points ago +2 / -0

What about little boy goats?

1
DC_Rogue 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Fazza" gets first dibs on them when he come visiting.

i'm west coast, our pets are all fine. They're mad because i brought back the wrong cat food, but other than that everything here is normal.

2

Story of our lives, too. Especially the two that are 19 and 20! We just can't get it right. Bless their picky old hearts

21
_Donald-Trump_ 21 points ago +21 / -0

Yea. Mine has been acting weird. I thought it was some kind of sound that humans can’t hear or something. Eastern US.

4
Lyonessrising 4 points ago +4 / -0

My dogs been fidgety today. Really smelling the air...hes a tracker so I'm used to the nose knows all routine. It's been so clear and bright in Pennsylvania since Mothers day. I even took a personal day to enjoy it. Animals always know when something is coming. The cat "Meso" is no guage of anything while in between heat cycles😂

2
Godisgloryy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes, they know. When we had an earthquake in Napa CA in 2014 days previous that day we had several small tremors and they barked before. They knew. By the way, thanks God I do not live there anymore.

Central TX. Dog spent last 2 nights whining and trying to sleep in the bathroom like he does when theres a bad storm. But weather is even milder than usual. He seems normal tonight.

Cats were hard to find for a couple days too, now that i think about it.

2

Fear pooping over horn honking? Shit, truth is brewing

16
Qanaut 16 points ago +18 / -2

After four other Anons chimed in with similar anecdotes of weird animal behavior, I thought this might be worth a sticky.

Can y'all give details on your approximate geographic locations? Y'all don't have to be specific. Just hemisphere / continent would be good info. There might indeed be something to this phenomenon worth looking into / out for.

9
LetsG0Brandon 9 points ago +10 / -1

Pets generally go "missing" amidst natural disasters... How about fabricated disasters?

16
kish-kumen 16 points ago +17 / -1

Ours are acting uncharacteristically weird today. Spouse confirms. Shaking, whining, pacing from room to room (dogs) and being agitated, omnipresent and not their typical lazy selves (cats). The lizard seems fine.

Midwest US

Homo sapien animal here - this afternoon for the first time in 20 years, I had a massive anxiety episode bordering on full panic attack. Was able to tamp it down when I realized what it was but scared me half to death. Came on completely out of the blue. Nothing going on that would have triggered it. Louisiana

Just thought I'd add my experience. Maybe others here have had the same?

4
rooftoptendie 4 points ago +4 / -0

sometimes i get that from a really bad histamine response... i don't know how it is there, but here on west coast where I'm at pollen has been off the hook this past 2 weeks. I've had a couple episodes.

you can see if this is what's bugging you by going on a low histamine diet and busting out your air filter. Maybe take a quercitin. If it helps, then maybe you had a histamine attack and not a panic attack.

I always keep these around just in case... taking two works really well for me if I can catch my symptoms early enough (it takes 15-20 min to kick in):

3
ditzee58 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thanks, I live on a low histamine diet because of anaphylaxis reactions. My husband cleaned out air filters the other day. Will take a quercetin when I get up. Thanks again!

3
Feelsgoodman 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is weird! Any sounds or smells that could have unknowingly triggered a stressful memory?

3
ditzee58 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not a thing - thanks for the suggestion though!

2

Yes- pretty terrifying

I'd give damn near anything to be with my ol' cats & dogs again, cray or not? Still squirt tears over 'em from time to time... all loved, pet heaven now. Hopefully wwg1 includes them ❤️

4
JonathanE 4 points ago +4 / -0

When I was young I wanted nothing more than to be zooming around in space discovering new planets and weird things.

Now I just want a quiet place to live with my wife and our two best girls, who have preceeded us to heaven.

Solar flare weirdness?

2
ObviousStatementMan 2 points ago +2 / -0

How many stories has the MSM run over the previous decade re: solar flares shorting everything out? It's a very weird thing for them to perpetually bring up without any actual/significant interference having ever occurred before.

2
I-AM-ANON 2 points ago +2 / -0

I could barely understand what you wrote at first. It sounded like a large Southern man was yelling it louder each time as I re-read it.

Then he got loud enough and your reply made 100% perfect sense.

Try reading you own comment as a loud Southern man. You're welcome.

4

Do you live in TN too?

9
JackieDaytona74 9 points ago +9 / -0

If my Newfoundland and Aussie Cattledog were humans, they'd be permanent residents of the booby hatch.

Really difficult for me to determine what's "weird" for them.

I know. Define “weird.”

We trained our first dog to enjoy thunderstorms, she would insist on hanging out the window to enjoy the show or actually be out in it.

We did this so she wouldn't crap herself every guy falkes night, worked a bit too well :)

5
GDZeus 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ok so you have to let us know just how you got your dog to like storms?

2
JonathanE 2 points ago +2 / -0

Played with her in the garden during the storm, showed no fear.

It also helped she was as brave as a lion in the first place :)

2
basilpesto 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ferrets really don’t give a shit, they’re like a tamer version of the mongoose.

8
13Buddha 8 points ago +9 / -1

My 2 cats were not thrilled to be outdoors today as they normally are. It was sunny, low 70's. No nervousness but cautious. They preferred the screened-in porch.

8
MelS 8 points ago +8 / -0

My horses were galloping around like idiots night before last ,don't know if it was because we were finally expecting some rain or something else. They were very stirred up.

4

Perhaps a tectonic plate is moving somewhere? Cats or most animals may pick up changes in magnetic fields or something like that. The question is if the birds are acting strange as well.

There, I said it. The part you were thinking.

6
deloppoled 6 points ago +6 / -0

Our dog ate her after dinner bone and then started trying to hump wife's leg... all seems normal here in northern Minnesota.

5
pearlrevolver 5 points ago +5 / -0

Tell your wife to hump the dog back to assert dominance. Works like a charm.

1
CaJuN-Polak 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just bite it's ear good and hard. That's a dominance thing in the wild.

6
tweety51A 6 points ago +6 / -0

5

No that you mention it, my parakeet has said nothing but covfefe since I got home from work.....🤔

5
MAGA_Patriot_1776 5 points ago +5 / -0

My dog has never said a word all her life. She's barked, howled, growled, you name it. Just never said anything before.

Tonight she looked up at me and I was expecting her eyes to say, please pat my head.

Instead, she opened her mouth and said, "Hey, did you see Kash Patel's retruth today? Gave me a bone-er."

I don't know what was weirder, my dog talking for the first time and using a pun, or the fact she's a total MAGA dog and I had no idea.

5
RealCleanUpPhilly 5 points ago +5 / -0

My cats had an activity jag and have been crying for treats, then didn't want to hang outside today even though it is as perfect as it gets in Philly. Perfect Spring Day. I thought maybe they could sense a dog in the alley or something? Extra treats settled them down.

5
Qaniso 5 points ago +5 / -0

nope. cat still acting like a loaf of bread.

3
Feelsgoodman 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can confirm Colorado cat loaf as well.

4
TitoshandmadePatriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

Had a strange dream about a demon entering my home but couldn't touch us, they have sr kept getting angrier and angrier as the dream progressed.

That was a week ago and the details are still vivid.

This morning my wife who never has bad dreams tells me that she had a nightmare about a bad person or monster in Denver a city 100 miles away wants to kill her.

Nightmares are common for me and I don't share them with her.

For her to share something similar is troubling

4
BerlinWallCrosser 4 points ago +5 / -1

All but one of our cats spent the day under beds. They are normally out in the open 24/7. Our oldest slept through the day as usual but got upset each time my wife left the house.

4

My chickens are chickening and my fish fishening. Nothing wierd here.

3
BigMuddyMama 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well, there was a random mallard duck lurking around my yard in Midwest suburbia, which I thought was unusual. Our kids' hamster was also unusually aggressive and bit me, but that could be because I had been rubbing our herb garden and he thought I was lemon balm? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

3
greatgonzochops 3 points ago +3 / -0

Middle TN too, nothing that I've noticed today, but keep us posted

3
Iknowstuff 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yesterday our loud mouth sassy 16 year old cat was quiet, which is abnormal. Thought something was wrong with her. Today she is 50% back to normal. The underlying energy has been weird but we live in Chicago so that could be local.

3
Ssue1216 3 points ago +3 / -0

My 2 in Ohio are fine. Where are you located?

3
TrumpsGoldenHair 3 points ago +3 / -0

West coast here and all the animals seem fine. Are you near Yellowstone? Heard there was a 4.4 mag earthquake there, that may explain some wierdness.

3

Midwest check in: our cats are still suicidal. They run in front of me, and sometimes under my feet.
