Same with Nunes, people keep pronouncing it as nunyez, the n is pronounced like n in number.

Also Matt Gaetz, I have the same last name and have been called guts, gets, gatez, I had to even tell my english teacher that you have to sound it out.

I love Dave, too, but he does have a problem with names. He and Dan from OTF.

Elias - he pronounces it El e us instead of E lie us. Drives me crazy.

Not sure if Dave pronounces it correctly.

Well he's at least trying to correct Mark Elias' name. The last 2 nights he sometimes got it right. But boy does he have the intel. Every time he says I do believe something is going to be happening, I believe he actually has been given the info.

You're like the 1000th person to comment this when Dave is brought up. It's boring and unoriginal and at this point completely unfunny.

2
kkthxk 2 points ago +2 / -0

Really?? its kind of hilarious if that many people keep doing it, hahahahah...

We're just having fun.

After the 1000% time it gets old.

Isn't Dave from Michigan? That's all I got.

Thank you for calling this out, Fren! I too love Dave, but his frequent mispronunciation of Dinesh’s name was making me crazy!

Let’s talk about your last name…

He mispronounces a lot of words. It's an indicator of someone who does more reading than listening. Not a big deal, but critics will always pretend it's a big deal.

It gets worse when people try to make you pronounce it using the rules of the language it originated from. I'm like "Dude, I know French, but I'm not going to pronounce Grande Marnier as 'Grond MAR-nee-AIRRRRR" when I'm in the US."

but I'm not going to pronounce Grande Marnier as 'Grond MAR-nee-AIRRRRR"

That's good, because that would be wrong. You don't pronounce the last letter in almost any french word.

'Grond MAR-nee-AY"

I followed a lib thread the other day just for fun and they were going on about the correct pronunciation of Mariople in Ukraine, they were trying to say that the Ukrainians were saying it wrong. Talk about self rightious priggs, thinking they can tell people in other countries how to pronounce their own words correctly.

I think Dave camouflages certain words and names for a reason

3
INK10 3 points ago +3 / -0

Possibly. I've heard some people on Youtube do it too, in order to confuse the censor bots, or whatever the hell they use.

DarQ2light 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's what I was thinking too especially when Dave says private Western Central Bank like it's one word

1
Huskereyez 1 point ago +1 / -0

🤣 I literally say it correctly after ever time he doesn’t.

Absolutely goes up my ass when he mispronounces Dineshs’s name …. Is he AI ?

I listen to a Better Call Saul youtuber. He pronounces the character Lalo (Lah-low) as (Lal-o). I find it funny and enjoy the random wrong pronunciation for some reason. 😆

Dave: Let's talk about your health.

Everyone: No, let's talk about giving some respect and pronouncing names correctly.
