This Country needs to WAKE UP TO THE FACT that the Government has simply abandoned the homeless as well as the elderly/addicted with no place to live.

We need to elect people who will take up this issue and I am more than willing to tell you all how in hell to fix it!

Here is a link to (two) of the abandoned health care facilities in the US. https://www.abandonedamerica.us/abandoned-government-and-social-institutions

https://opacity.us/locations/genre/psychiatric_hospital/all

So how about we spend the Ukraine money on getting these institutions fixed and backed on track to house ALL of these people?

Stop spending money on Ukraine and fix the issues of the homeless!

What I do not understand, frens, is how you and I know what needs to be done, yet the idiots who were rigged elected, do not give a damn about how we could cure homelessness as well as addiction.

I am so pissed, folks, so pissed. I wish I could connect with someone who would listen to my ideas and had the balls to work with me.

Here's the thing, a lot of homeless people WANT to be homeless. They're mentally ill and have little to no desire to have a home. These are the people that need to be in a mental facility.

Most aren't mentally ill anymore though (other than alcohol/drug addiction - I mean seriously mentally ill enough to actually require care/be unable to function/not by choice). The numbers have gone exponential because society/government facilitate it, period.

Homelessness is part of the deep state plan. The "you will own nothing" part.

The mere fact that someone wants to be homeless indicates a mental illness.

What on earth makes you think that even if the Govt didnt blow money overseas, or anywhere else for that matter, that they are even CAPABLE of fixing homelessness? They created it in the first place! Govt needs to be GREATLY reduced, taxes too, and that alone will start to fix homelessness in those who are truly trying to overcome the situation.

tbh, the big answer is drain the swamp and trust the plan. everything will change.

a good idea, but there is a reason those facilities are abandoned.

The buildings are dirty, as in they need complete lino re-fits to be hygienic, and in institutions this means coping up the walls, so that there is no crack in the corner for germs to lurk. The buildings are hard to run because of the lack of technology and would need major concrete drilling and service trays fitted out for fibre, ventilation etc; They are also cold, because of insulation standards that were non-existent decades ago, So they suck up huge resources just to heat them.

To get them up to spec is an insane expense. It would be better to start again.

The problem is not housing, because we could mobilise to build anything. The problem is the reason why these people are homeless. They need help, sure, but not how you think. I don't think the answer is in big buildings, either.

Imagine how much of your issues could be fixed with 40 billion dollars!

Most, if not all, the issues will resolve themselves once the deep state is annihilated. The deep state causes poverty, drug addiction, and yes, even mental illness. The black community has shown multi-family residences are not the answer. We also know care facilities are rife with abuse and neglect from staff. Hiding people away in buildings as you suggest is not the answer. They must be re-integrated within society as your next-door neighbor to be effective.

Very good idea. Now all you have to do is keep the greedy millionaires from sending all that $$$ to Ukraine to get it laundered and sent back to them. If we could get our hands on 1/10 of that money your solution could be up and running in 30 days!

I am surprised that the homeless is still a thing after the “deadly” covid pandemic.

We are never going to "cure" homelessness or addictions. I've learned over a lifetime (and many of those years as a clean and sober recovering alcoholic) that there is a certain percentage of humans that are quite willing to sink to the lowest levels of squalor as long as basic needs are met. The homeless and addicted can find food at shelters, a place to sleep on the street among others of their kind, and now they can even get free crack pipes from de gubment.

As Jesus once said, "The poor shall always be among you."

The homeless problem is no easy fix. The vast majority are addicted to booze and/or drugs and have mental issues. Many of the homeless receive money from the government, which would rent a room in a boarding house, but then there's no booze, drugs, or cigarette money to last the month.

In some cases, they have people managing the money for these people by people held accountable, but most are allowed to waste their money as they see fit. Many are also unemployable due to mental issues.
