How is it that the "fighters are being evacuated"? To where exactly?
In a war, you don't just surrender and are allowed to leave and evacuate to somewhere else. Generally, the enemy frowns on the idea of allowing you to walk away.
So far as im aware the few hundred who were evacuated were injured combatants who require medical assistance.
I guess they were allowed to return to ukrainian hospitals as a sign of goodwill.
In the US, the French are synonymous with "surrender," so I plugged that into an English to French translator and then translated "abandonner" back into English using the same translator.
I edited the screenshot and changed the definition to "End Combat Mission" to mock the New York Times refusing to call the Ukraine surrender a surrender.
Sorry for not getting it. I kind of think if the surrender score was measured in money we might actually have the French beat. We just like to pour billions of dollars and decades into a no-win conflict before walking away. Thankfully President Trump showed it doesn’t have to be that way.
On a serious note. During my career I worked with a lot of French people. Those who were children during WWII always expressed sincere and deep gratitude for our role in liberating France. I always responded by saying we wouldn’t have been here to do it without their aid in our Revolutionary War.
And as a nod to your username I want to say I pray for France, among other things, every day. Something tells me it is a key to bringing down the Cabal. More of a gut feel, probably based on my visceral dislike of Macron.
Hahaha

What’s the link to French? Is it the belief there were French military advisers there?
You're overthinking this. Kek.

It's like how the Inuit have 100 words for snow.
To ask someone to surrender, you say « Rendez vous! », not to be confused with « Rendez-vous » which means « Appointment ».
