Of course Joe Biden doesn't write his own speeches. He has speechwriters, who use certain words, and phrases, to develop a certain narrative, and to make you feel a certain way about an issue.

Basically, every word they say, is a keyword, with some hidden reason for using it.

For example, we all intuitively know what Biden's handlers are trying to do with the gun control debate, but maybe we just can't quite articulate it very well, or are scared to say something "too soon".

"Stand Up To"...

We all know what a bully is, and we all know that we are supposed to "stand up to" bullies.

So by using that phrase, "stand up to", they are implying that the gun lobby are bullies,

And that the only reason that Washington can't get any "common sense gun controls" passed, is because the big bad mean gun lobby bullies.
