I am so livid over this! Just watched the news conference by the DPS - how DARE they think that their lives are more important than those children. They waited for an HOUR (waiting for shields etc) before going in. They are public servants and take an oath to PROTECT and serve. As a Texas taxpayer - i want my money back!
Edited to add: there is a special place in hell for these type of people! ALL of them.
I watched the same presser. Local cops were in the school within minutes and taking rounds from the shooter before he locked himself in the classroom. It took an hour to get the swat team and others there.

Uvalde is a little tiny town about an hour an a half from San Antonio. They don't have a swat team. 15k people in that little town.
15k population is not a "tiny little town".
For those types of resources, it absolutely is. The school district had a "police force", where were they?
Well it is considering the populations of the major cities around them.
I think you're missing my point. They don't have a swat team.
