Imagine gas stations all over the US start selling their fuel for under 1 dollar. And no one in the government is able to explain it.
I remember 96 cents in NE Kentucky in 1996.

I remember regular unleaded at $1.27 about 2 years ago during the height of the CV19 shenanigans. Took a picture of the station price board at the time - Southern Oklahoma at a Choctaw Indian Nation Casino.
$.69 in 1978 was 3.09.
