I have it on excellent authority, my Wife works at one, that there is a Big Corp going around West Virginia buying up all, or as many as possible, of the small Mom-n-Pop Liquor Stores, like the one she works at....
So far, they have gotten about 15 of the ones between Charleston WV, and down Corridor G, and those close to corridor G....
What could go wrong, right???
I'm thinking they'll be raising the prices of booze, to such a high price that they'll lose customers, AND then the Bootlegging and hidden Moonshine Stills will pop back up....
Isn't that the whole idea??
Force the Little Guy to shutter his doors???
AND, is this happening in other states also, and/or with other small businesses??
I'm curious about what other people are seeing in terms of small businesses. In my town, I noticed one oil change place shut down, and next door to it, a bait shop got shut down by a fire. Seen similar things in your area?
Maybe in other places.....
Don't forget about who were forced to close their doors because of the lock-downs. The idea of dictating what an 'essential' business from an 'unessential' one still haunts me. Who benefited? It sure wasn't the mom-and-pop shops and cafes.
Right, like Essential Workers.....
To a business, I would guess that every Worker is essential.....
If not, why hire them???
This is the biggest crime of all. Hundreds of thousands of small businesses closed their doors permanently. In my state alone, there were over ten thousand businesses labeled 'non-essential'. Tell that to the owners of these businesses trying to pay their bills and feed their families. Who has this right to play God? It was a crime against humanity. Of all the outrages, this bothers me the most.
I had the same conclusion when they first announced it...
The ‘Great Reset’ on steroids. Sometimes you just need to show them.
Ok.....
