If you listen to some of the alien truther community folks, Earth is considered to be a terrorist planet in the Galaxy, and humans are Humans are considered to be dangerously ignorant giving control to the terrorists.
As you just wake up realising everything we have been told is a lie, who are we to judge where the lies end and truth begins? I for one keep my mind open. Anything is possible, but just because its possible does not mean it's 100% true. My brain has become schroedingers' brain.
Maybe YOU wake up feeling that everything you have been told is a lie---including the idea that everything you have been told...is a lie. Once you embrace radical skepticism, you no longer have a means of sorting truth from falsehood. You become crazy. Not a good look.
Hahaha, the last thing I care about while trying to find out the truth is whether I sport a good look.
And sadly, whether you like it or not, indeed almost everything we have been told is a lie. Too many times I see people who open their eyes in one area, but keep it firmly shut in ever other area. I know a guy who has been screaming that wall street is a criminal cabal and financial system is a ponzi scheme since 2008. Yet he refuses to believe that our whole medical system has been infiltrated by the big pharma, or that all the media is controlled by a few companies.
Its the same with people who open their eyes about the vaccines, but refuse to believe the federal reserve is centrally managing our economy and intentionally causing inflation all these decades.
You can see the whole WallStreetBets subreddit who understand so much of this agenda, but still think Trump is a sexist racist corrupt businessman.
Like I said, you can have the redpill shoved down/up every single time, or you can take it as a whole package in one go.
Well, you are lost. The only way to discern a lie is to know the truth...not just suspect a lie, and "believe" the truth. You just wind up casting your lot with a different set of lies. Alien "truthers"? What truth? Just more fantasizing. I've been following this topic for over half a century. There is real information...and there is enthusiast clap-trap.
I have been lost all my life and only now stepping out of the dark forest, so to speak and enter the sunlight. In this sunlight there are lots of things, buzzing insects, beautiful flowers, sparkling water, reflections, rainbows, mirages and what not. Just because some of the things I see here are illusions does not mean I close my eyes and step back into the darkness because I am so scared of trusting an illusion for a second.
Why the fear? Why not examine everything you see. Why not touch and feel what you can, and let your instincts tell you whats real and whats not?
Alien "truthers"? What truth?
Those who want to find out the truth about aliens. As simple as that.
There is real information...and there is enthusiast clap-trap.
You seem to be really scared of the clap-trap, even at the expense of giving up the possibility of ever learning the real information. You seem to be too worried about how people perceive you, or that you might believe in some nonsense.
Why this fear? The journey to the truth can only be taken if you can hold things your mind and examine them without immediately believing them. Dont be afraid to hold thoughts in your mind. Dont be afraid to examine things. Dont be afraid what people will think of you. Live your life for yourself.
I am a scientist and "instincts" are worthless as tools of science. Objective measurement and observation are the test of truth. I am eager for information, but delusions and mythology are not information. I fully expect truth to withstand the closest scrutiny. You go along with minimal scrutiny so long as it soothes your preconceptions. I'm not the one living in fear. You clutch clap-trap to yourself as a security blanket.
Haha, I remember when we'd go into the city of St. Louis for Cardinals baseball games, Dad would say, make sure your doors are locked and this was the 70s. It's only gotten worse, sadly.
You watch - one day aliens will land and tell the people that greet their ship to take them to Capt Kirk. I figure with Star Trek reruns on TV since the 60s some of those signals are probably still bouncing around in space somewhere.
They don't stop because the fuel prices are too high.

I have the impression that this is absurd on two completely separate levels, but I can't articulate it.

God bless.

They're finished harvesting Earth's natural resources and are now onto harvesting it's inhabitants. I'd lock my doors too. 😆
Earth has a 'One Star' rating.

They do, just not here. On the mothership. Sometimes with complimentary anal probe.

We're food. Of course they visit. Problem is, you don't get to go home.
