Attorney General Intervenes After Bill Gates Buys A Massive Amount Farmland In North Dakota

The office of the Attorney General of North Dakota sent a letter Tuesday asking Red River Trust, a group with ties to billionaire Bill Gates, to prove the company’s use of the land does not violate the state’s Corporate Farming Laws.

The trust had acquired six parcels of land in Pembina County.

“I’ve gotten a big earful on this from clear across the state, it’s not even from that neighborhood,” Agricultural Commissioner Doug Goehring, according to Valley News Live. “Those people are upset, but there are others that are just livid about this.”

The letter stipulated that under North Dakota law, there are “certain limitations on the ability of trusts to own farmland or ranchland.”

“The Corporate or Limited Liability Company Farming Law has certain exceptions, such as permitting registered family farms or allowing the use of the land for business purposes,” the letter continued.

According to the letter, corporations that are in violations of this law will have a year to divest themselves of the land and are subject to a civil fine of $100,000.

“Our office needs to confirm how your company uses this land and whether this use meets any of the statutory exceptions, such as business purpose exceptions, such as the business purpose exception, so that we may close this case and file it in our inactive files,” the letter continued.

As of January 2021, Bill Gates is the largest owner of farmland in the U.S., owning 242,000 acres across 18 states, according to the Daily Mail.

That certainly was a strongly worded letter.

I want Bill Gates burned at the stake. Fuck hanging or firing squad

Kudos to the NDAG!

Just to put it in perspective though, Gates owns 242,000 acres out of 900 million acres of U.S. farmland, according to a 2017 Census of Agriculture

Yeah. I'm surprised, frankly, that the size of the land, across 18 states no less, is so small.

No doubt.

640 acres per square mile. All that land would fit in about 20 square miles.

A lot and yet not at the same time.

242,000.0 Acres (ac)=378.125 Square Miles (mi²)

My apologies. Durrr. I meant 20x20 mile square. That's what I get for shooting from the hip and not double checking my posts.

I should qualify, I was also giving a rough number w/o doing the propper math. I guess I could lie and say I was stoned at the time and am the son of a senator, that gets others out of embarrassing predicaments, right?. 😉

I went for the 400 sq mile figure in a separate comment. Easy peasy.

The issue Gates poses to me, he’s stopping production on the lands he purchases. Is he creating an issue of shortage?

I wonder if this article by Daily Caller is accurate. 242,000 acres is not very much land. It comes to less than 400 square miles.

In Australia, there are at least 100 cattle stations (ranches) that are more than 4 times that size in a single packet of land.

Or perhaps is it simply that the land in the USA is far more distributed among a wider population (of owners)?

Been hearing a lot about Gates being the largest farmland owner in the USA, but 400 sq miles seems pretty small. (USA size being around 3,500,000 sq miles).

Edit: If this is accurate, the Gates ownership equates to some 0.025% of the farmland in the USA. That's not very much (although the size of farmed land in the US is decreasing year by year)!!!

Saucy sauce:

242 x 100% / 985000 = 121 / 4925 % ≈ 0.024568527918781728%

Perhaps the Gates thing is a distraction ploy. How much farmland do Blackrock and Vanguard controlled interests own?

The civil fine should be $100,000/day. He can afford it. When he is finally arrested, confiscate all of his “riches” due to acquisition under false means and as payment for all his evil. Arrest his ex-“wife” for her evil too and confiscate her monies and property too. Look into their “children” because one can assume raised by evil, they are evil. We know his daughters stance on abortion, so one can assume that they believe in eugenics/depopulation too.
