Don't forget your hot water tank,has another 40 gal. It's a good idea to occasionally drain them to clear sentiment,but be care sometimes the valves won't close all the way if you have an old tank.....
When I replaced my water heater a few years ago, I installed shutoff valves on both the inlet and outlet sides.
That way I can isolate the tank and use it for emergency water without warrying about water coming back in from the house pipes and possibly contaminating the water in the tank.

You will need air coming in the top,so crack the outlet,if you drain it.
