This reminds me of the old Star Trek episodes where either Kirk or Spock would have a double, and Kirk (or Spock) would have to figure out which one was real and which was the evil duplicate.

It was always a situation where technology couldn't help.

Do you remember how Kirk and/or Spock always resolved this?
