I really don't know much about JP at all, why I went searching in GAW to see others' takes on him. Thank you for your weighing-in on him as you're obviously more knowledgeable about JP than I am. The above link discussing JP was worth reading to see both sides.
My main contentions in this post are that twatter is still censoring along the marxist narrative and Musk, who the last I'd heard was still in the process of purchasing the twatter firm, seems to have absolutely nothing to say about this. In fact, it seems he's been twitter-silent for awhile now (so I hear).
Opinions on JP seem to be a mixed bag, just like Musk. I'm about fully on the fence with Musk as it's hard to reconcile what seems like, perhaps 70% positive-speak and action versus 70% negative-speak and background, numbers just pulled out of thin air as a general sense of the mountains of pro vs con arguments regarding him.
We've heard lots from Musk in the past about 1A with regards to twitter. As the person in the process of purchasing the firm, his weighing-in on the JP suspension would seem appropriate and would likely help spread awareness. We all know he doesn't (yet) "control" twatter, but he does have influence when he speaks out against censorship. It would seem like a real good time for Musk to call out current twatter leadership for allowing censorship of a person - whether or not one likes him - who decries doctors involved in body mutilation surgeries. Just mho.
I have to wonder though, what's the difference between him telling people to get the jab and Trump telling people to get the jab?
I'm not the person to ask about JP's stance on "vaccines" (aka experimental drug injections); perhaps ask anon SelfReliancePepe. In general though, if a person advocates for people to take the jab, if you want, that it should not be mandated, and that there's no reason for kids to get it, it's a lot different than those who suggest taking it because otherwise you're a science-denying, socially-irresponsible, grandma-killing, should not be allowed to buy groceries and are responsible for everyone's misery at being locked-down person.
I agree. There is a huge difference between the two. Dr. Peterson took it but has stated that he took the jab because he thought they would leave him alone. They did not. He does not believe in mandates and hasn't said anything about kids needing the jab. He does not advocate for the jab or Vax mandates. I'd say JP falls under the first group you mentioned, same as Trump.

I have always felt he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has some talking points I agree with but that doesn't mean I am going to idolize the man, like I see many people doing. Much like Shapiro... we agree on some things, but I think he is a slimy, conceited douche bag. Funny that those two are going to work together now.
He always seemed to talk about the opposite. Saying that compliance leads to more tyranny. He's been the most critical of the war in Ukraine and the Canadian government. I don't agree with everything he says, but I'd say for the most part he doesn't shy away from topics that would get him "cancelled". I've watched a large portion of his videos, but maybe I've missed something. Is there a specific video or article you've watched or read from him that you're referring to?

We do "get that". We also "get" that Musk has spoken out about the serious 1A shortcomings of twitter (censoring conservatives and everyone else who doesn't fall in line with the woke marxist narrative) in the past. He's highly visible, has millions of followers (as I understand it) and is supposed to still be in the process of purchasing the firm - and now he seems to be "off grid" or something (see u/txharleygirl comment, above).
Does he have control of the 1A issues at twitter or not? No. It's a rhetorical question. We know he isn't the owner, but we ALSO know he has some influence with, at very least, raising the issue to spread awareness. If he's truly a proponent of free speech - even if he doesn't agree with JP on this issue - he has enough power to weigh in on the censorship once again. Maybe Jordan P is too trivial a person for Musk to even take note of. I don't know much about JP myself, but have seen several posts on GAW and elsewhere to know that he has somewhat of a following himself.
This would seem to be an opportune time for Musk to state that, while we don't have to agree, we also shouldn't be silencing opposing viewpoints. He could call out the people who do currently control twatter. We're not even getting a snarky tweet about the "woke mind virus". Nothing. No comment. Not even a "My lawyers tell me I can't comment on this at present."
I'm happy with what he's posted on the topic so far. I don't think he needs to camp out on his twitter fighting any and every battle until he closes the deal. He's made his position clear. Some people are never satisfied and the second someone doesn't show they're quite as obsessed with a topic as you are you go after them. I think everyone's need to identify good and bad guys has gone too far. Relax. Musk isn't your spokesman. You are. Go do you. Let him do him. I think he's doing fine.
