My 16 yo son has a court date Aug 2nd at 1. Another kid got in trouble for riding his dirt bike on a baseball diamond and he's saying that my son was there. My son wasn't there. They only have the kids statement. The only dirt bike my son has is not running and the cops saw that and they took pictures of it. And they're still trying to charge him with no evidence let me remind you. They called me the courts wanted me to bring him in and have him admit to what he did so they could give him community service and have him put on the lowest possible probation there is. And I said do you have any evidence that was my son? Do you have any pictures any videos? She said no all they had was a deputy statement. So I told her I have no problem bringing him in if you can prove to me that my son did it I'll gladly bring him in have him sign up for this program he'll do his community service whatever but if you don't have any evidence I'm not going to bring him into admit to something he didn't do that's entrapment and then they wanted to put it on put them on probation before even seeing a judge no I know my son's rights. So I have an appointment with a really good attorney on Wednesday at 1:00 it's a phone consultation. I have to add to his dad my ex-husband said he's not going to let this go he's not going to let him railroad our son like this so I'm thankful that we have a good relationship he's going to help me pay for the attorney and he's not happy it's like I'm not happy

Thats odd. Come and say you did it and we will let you off of something you did not do.
Seems like they are fishing to put this on someone else. Who is the other kid related to?
That's a tactic they use to get high conviction numbers. No evidence? No problem: we'll just threaten them, and if they sign it counts the same!
True, they do that. But they already have someone. And are fishing for someone else. Why not give that deal to the kid who was already busted and walk away.
You are thinking they are seeking truth and justice. The system doesn't reward them for truth and justice; it rewards them for convictions. Just pretend they are salesmen who get paid a commission on each conviction. From that perspective, more is always better. It's very cynical.
Obviously not every prosecutor works that way, but that's how the system works. Many just go along, allowing themselves to think they are doing right, without questioning the reality, just like doctors who should care about health but instead simply follow instructions to jab everyone on sight, the system perverts their judgement and their behavior.
It might be time to put your anon skills to work, OP. This is an excellent point.
I have been trying to put more time in. But lots of battles all over.
Stay strong, fren. It's always darkest before the dawn. Truth will win out.
Yes. Good point!
Like the FBI trying to get I think it was a security guard to write something about how he would go about setting a bomb. Entrapment right there.
That was my very first question! Who is he connected to?!
From one patriot to another, I will pray for your situation. But I would also like to play "devil's advocate" based on raising my own two...they are both successful adults now but they weren't without their transgressions during the teen years...and neither of them were beneath lying if they knew trouble was on the horizon.
You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that your son WAS there unless YOU personally are his alibi. Meaning you know for a fact that he couldn't have been there because he was with you. The fact that his dirt bike wasn't running does not mean he wasn't there at the time of the vandalism. Sit him down and have a heart to heart with your son. Check his phone. Ask questions. Do your own investigating. Don't just take his word for it. Follow up and check into his story. I tell you this based on personal experience. My kid said he wasn't at a party that got busted by the cops. Long story, but at the end of the day...he was there.
All for backing your kid. Just make sure you have all the facts before you go to court. I'm sure your lawyer will tell you the same thing. Good luck and God bless, fren.
Yeah, I remember the first time I defended my kids to a neighbor and then found out they lied. I was pretty embarrassed (and flabbergasted) but it does happen.
Wonder of there is any geo tagging data to provide an alibi. At the time in question what was your son doing? Most kids can't go 5 minutes without at least checking their phones.
I also want to point out that, if this is in the county and it was a Sheriff's Deputy and not a city cop, they could have several reasons for this rout. Its not beyond reality to belive they will try to stop and question your kid. Make sure they know they dont have to say a word to anyone about anything. And that you and their Dad will have their back.
Im wondering if they arent wanting to get your kid and the other kid in the same room for an interrogation. Not even trying to see who is telling the truth is why I am suspicious. Id put money on one of 2 things. Your kid was riding the dirtbike, or the other kid has some tie back to the Sheriff, a donor, or someone in a county seat of some sort.
It sucks, but the attorney money is worth it. The DA's office cares about convictions, and truth is usually a side issue in a lot of jurisdictions. They'll probably drop it when they see resistance.
My grandson's friend (early 20's) got a speeding ticket and when he went to court the judge said if he got the covid vaccine it would not go on his record...so he got the vaccine. I was aghast to hear that a judge could (or would) even do this. This was last year when they were really pushing the vaccines and there wasn't such a preponderance of evidence of the harm they were doing. This was in Georgia...so just be careful.
Wow!! Just wow! Wondering why he went to court when you can mail in the fine. This is a clear case of preying on someone's life inexperience. SMDH. Shame on that judge!
I am a little hazy on what all the ticket was for (maybe some alcohol?) but I am ASOLUTELY SURE the judge exchanged the vaccine for part of the punishment because I was SO shocked they could even do that.
Reminds me of the time my kid was watching a road race and got taken in for racing.
Can you believe they took all the kids to jail for racing? They also “confiscated” and lost a go pro camera showing the kids on the side of the road watching.
With all the actual crime happening this chicken shit stuff is what they decide to spend their time on.
I am with you, patriot! Fight it!
It is easier and safer for them to spend time on intimidating and fining juveniles. They get some money, the kid maybe gets something on his juvenile record, and they continue to try and implicate and intimidate him until he is 18 and they can point to his juvenile record as a reason to falsely peg him with an adult crime.
Can you get any witnesses as to WHERE your son was at the time? If he wasn't there, he was somewhere! Lawyer is going to ask this first thing!
Years ago know of a 13 year old who unknowingly had his cub scout pocketknife in his pocket when he set off to the school bus stop. Upon arriving at the bus stop discovery was made and the cub scout pocketknife was hidden in the bushes. Unfortunately some of the other kids witnessed the discovery and talked on the bus. The bus driver radioed it in and by the time they arrived at the school the Inquisition Committee were waiting. Despite the only story with verifiable truth being the childs' and the SRO stating the recovered cub scout pocketknife was not a weapon per school code; he was suspended for a year. The county lost an honor roll student as the parents were able to place the child in a private school where he struggled to catch up. The child learned a lesson in justice; if they want to punish you they will regardless of if you did the right thing.
I have little hope of the child above prevailing against false accusations but offer prayers that he does prevail and that this awful two tier justice system be done away with.
Can you get pictures of tire tracks and compare them? What about phone location logging? Any other forensic evidence? Soil samples? Ring doorbell/video evidence???
Prayers for all of you, fren. May justice be truly served.
Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Does your son have a beef with the other kid involved who said your son was present?
This is terrible. I hope your son prevails.
Pray God will protect you.
Stand your ground. We are with you. It's amazing how much shit like this goes on every day. Everywhere.
The cops should have better things to do.
In my experience kids who get away with petty crimes like vandalism often go on to less petty, more significant crimes.
Speaking from experience, sometimes it's just testing boundaries and figuring out how the world works. Or maybe it was just a lack of places to ride in open spaces.
Government and cops can definitely lead to a life of crime. It is government's intention IMO.
Point taken...I don't disagree.
