What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
Yeah I have bitcoin. I typically use it for online purchases that allow bitcoin - like my hosting provider. Other than that, its just a fancy item I have.
Typically you buy bitcoin in one of the crypto exchanges. I use Swyftfx - but there are lots of exchanges. Search for the one in your country. Once you buy the bitcoin, install a crypto wallet (Exodus is a good one) on your phone/computer, and follow instructions to send the bitcoins to that wallet. If you are putting a lot of money, you might want to purchase a hardware wallet such as Ledger or Trezr.
If you are a geek, I suggest creating your own wallet, its pretty easy.
Please remember that any money you put into crypto should be considered "gone" the moment you put it in. Think of it like spending money on entertainment. Dont spend what you cant afford to lose.
You get better rates through an online exchange such as CoinBase.
The "ATM" works fine though but you have to have a wallet to send it to.
I buy and hold, using as a tool to hedge against inflation. I use a seldom used laptop for my wallet to minimize risk & exposure, otherwise you can get a hardware wallet.
If you end up buying through them, or any exchange, you don't want to keep your BTC there. Set up an offline wallet or get a hardware wallet.
Leaving it on the exchange will leave you prone to seizure.
Ledger hardware wallets are popular and reasonably priced.

Yeah, just buy a ton on your credit card and hold it.
