I thought the Land from was donated to the county upon the completion of the project. Making it county property. County executives certainly treated it like a tourist attraction.
Probably was also other damage not readily apparent. Considering one chunk of it exploded and pretty thoroughly too. Suggesting some measure of force behind it.
The whole thing is gone, as of this afternoon. The county came in and tore it down.

What gives the county authority to do that? Wonder if the owner asked/told them to do it, or if they got permission from the owner.
