Money Metals has been a reliable online source for silver rounds and smaller bits of of gold for me. They use the USPS, which can be a weak link. "Due to Coivd" they were not getting a signature for insured package, just leaving them in mailbox. They are back to collecting signatures now. Fortunately, I didn't lose anything.
Monument Metals has been fast and dependable. I've purchased bars from 10 Oz to 1 kg which is 99.999% pure. Also a few Walking Liberty coins. I've also bought some "junk silver" which is 90% pure pre-1965 coin. I can't imagine being able to break any bits off the bars. For a good source of info, take a look at Wall Street Silver (WSS) on reddit.
Thanks. As for the question of breaking the bars, someone here said such bars are made (maybe it was only gold? but I thought it was silver too) so that you could purchase smaller items. Thanks for the info.
And this is why I have cash on hand and silver too
Do you have a suggestion on a good place to buy silver? And do you buy the bars that break into little pieces? Thanks.
I use APMEX.

Thanks, but wow. Yeah, that definitely seems iffy. Glad you didn't take a loss.
