The illustration may be from the 1400's but Harmonia herself was killed in 215 AD. The entire royal family was put to death in a political struggle. The history of Rome is a bloody and brutal one.

EDIT & FOLLOW UP: Now that I think of it, politics has always been a rough and tumble activity... maybe our ruling "elites" should consider this historical event and consider their own fragile positions.
