When you have time, dig on EVs. They are NOT what is being promised. Look for agencies who investigate auto claims.
It is another Rich Man's trick to remove money from the common people.
If you purchase one, it is too late.

Electric vehicles will win in the marketplace once they improve battery tech. But once you can charge/replace your battery in the time it takes to refill a gas tank, the ICE is dead.
I'm not saying this as an eco-freak or anything like that.
More like an old man with 17 gas engined vehicles and lawn implements. The internal combustion engine is a big fat kludgey mess of unreliable systems. Electric motors will win.
I.E., I'm an old man who can't stand it when my lawn mower won't start. I adore my plug-in hybrid and nothing is going to stop the EV. It is coming.
im both ways about the subject. on one hand, i am capable of using solar panels to farm the sun for my plug ins and i am not capable of refining petroleum. on the other hand, complex electronics do not last.
I use solar at my lake cabin. It has worked great and been reliable for a the last decade. Plenty of power for the occasional stay.
I am an engine whisperer. There are only three things an engine needs to run. Unlock that and you unlock the secret to limitless power.
Maybe you can get my boat engine to start. It has fuel and spark and air, and it absolutely refuses me.
I'd certainly give it a shot. :)
I think OP's point is that, probably like the smartphone, the device has benefits that are being sold to us while hiding what's really going on underneath. The EVs are not clean, they do not replace classic fuels, they just change the place the burning happens, and move power around less efficiently. But more importantly, they are not transportation devices, they are movement-control devices.
Yes, that too. Well said.
