You’re right, Abe was out of office quite a while before these things happened.
But he had the right officials in place, it seems.
It's "toe the line," but yeah
Thanks for the correction.
I shouldn't step foot in this topic but really, I could care less...for all intensive purposes either spelling work the same! :p
"Tow the line" would be picking up a rope and pulling it, but that's not the expression
the actual saying is "toe the line," meaning to stand with your toes on the designated line and nowhere else - like they make prisoners do in jail.
"Toeing the party line" means doing exactly what the party orders you to do.
and not to be an ass or anything, but it's "for all intents and purposes"
I always pictures politicians physically dragging a line with party rethoric engraved on it via a rope. Who knew?
well, just ask someone who's been in prison lol
whoooossshhhhh
I see what you did there…
LOL
Unfortunately, that sets you apart...not everyone was paying attention ;)
This meme was posted already, and it is inaccurate. I live in Japan and both the ivermectin thing and the announcement that there shall be no mandates nor discrimination came under Suga, his successor. It sounds nice and I know the MAGA crowd wants to believe that Abe was a good guy because he got along well with Trump, but he really wasn't a good PM and his scandals are pretty well-known here.
It also was a Clif high quote...last time. Why are the same memes reposted day after day in new threads, even when they're bs. There's a pattern here.
Sad but true, he was assassinated because he wouldn't toe the party line
He was setting up a return to office, too. Can't have trump and his allies returning to office all around the same time.
Japan is like 90% vaccinated and the country is still closed to basically everyone trying to visit, my brother lives there and I live in Korea.
Korea and Japan together are probably one of the most vaccinated places on earth.
