Doesn't that use more plastic? A 2 liter is far more efficient use of plastic than two 1 liter.

As someone that has been in a soda bottling plant. I can tell you that the same size plastic slug is used for all bottle sizes. It's why a 20 oz feels sturdier/thicker than a 2L.
You misunderstood me. The city banned plastic containers smaller than 1L in public areas. It's some virtue signaling from the city council.
