Personally I totally want the Government out of marriage. Why do I need to ask the state to get a license to marry? States should record civil unions for legal purposes. Marriage is a religious institution that needs to be kept as far away from government control as possible.
I do believe gays that want to commit to one another should have the same rights as married people but it's not a marriage so don't call it one. It's not condoned by God. Gays should be able to see their loved ones in the hospital or be on their partner's insurance or receive pensions etc..
I don't think they should have the right to adopt children. Call me an ass for saying that, but I don't care. These children lead a very deranged/confused life in these partnerships. That's not fair to the kids, they deserve better.
There are plenty of families that cannot have kids, or are willing to adopt. There is not an adoption crisis going on, and the LGBT group is a very small percentage of the population, so your point is more trying to justify it.
do you know how much money it takes to adopt a child? do you know how many kids are in foster care? it is definitely a crisis. love covers a multitude of sins, your judgmental attitude when you are a sinner too shows your lack of mercy and grace. get over yourself.
I must have struck a personal nerve with you, so we must be talking about a personal experience. I hate to break it to you, but God heavily looks down upon "same sex" anything.
I'm not the one you seem to have an issue with it sounds like...
And yes, I understand there are heavy costs to adoption. That's a broken system, not a shortage of people willing to adopt. Do YOU know the numbers, since you call it a crisis?
there's 6000 kids just in the state of Arkansas alone. yes it does strike a nerve. fornication is just a big a sin as homosexuality. if you marry more than once its adultery, so im just saying splitting hairs on this issue when you are talking about needy kids is futile. they need loving homes. i do not condone homosexuality but i also know that kids that have no home is worse.
If the economy/system wasn't so broken, and created against normal citizens, there would be no issue in this. Many people don't want any more kids because they think they are too expensive, or it'll hamper their careers.
We fix the issues, this will never be a problem ever again.
I'm not against what people do in their private lives, but I have seen/met/talked to kids that are raised in these types of family settings...almost all of them start identifying with their "parents" and is just another form of grooming, whether intentional or not.
And if it passes and it's signed, still unconstitutional, according to precedent. And executive order? Still unconstitutional. I realize they will try to pretend it is legal, but it is not.
Man they are dumb. Making a law that doesn't derive its power from the constitution means that if this gets taken to the supreme court (and they do their job) it will be removed since the federal government cant make laws that aren't within the authority expressly given to them in the constitution. All authority not expressly given is then subject to the states and the people. In order to make abortion and gay marriage legal and constitutional, they would need to create an amendment.
Now, if the constitution does already allow for gay marriage, that's a different story. it would then be constitutional.

Marriage should have never had the Government involved in the first place.

I disagree. It's not the ideal set up of course, just like single parenting but its better than bouncing around in foster care.

Whut???
Nasty.

Clearly an issue that takes priority over our open borders, inflation, job creation, gas prices, etc. Fuck these people.
Also a huge sign that Dems are preparing to lose for a long time.
Just bear in mind, "Fraud vitiates everything."
