Kept hearing from Lamestream Media about AR-15 Assault Weapon. Figure if it is Assault Weapon it should be AW or AS.
So I went and looked it up.
AR means Armalite. The first 2 letters of the company.

I think it actually means Armalite Rifle
someone here gets it....you are correct.....
All my weapons are weapons of war. Right down to my 22lr.
I'm thinking my first few firearms will be .22 LR.
Those are the small rounds, correct?
Yeah, .22 LR are quite small. Here's a decent comparison picture - http://www.blog.thegunsandgearstore.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Handgun-Calibers1.jpg
Thanks for the education. Appreciate.
Good for you.
If you attach a battery-powered laser sight, it becomes an "assault & battery" rifle.
ROFLMAO
If you use it as a club. It would be the same thing. Haha.
I think Stoner-assault weapon is the proper name!
Words have meaning. I was so brain dead I believed them before. LOL
and AF is assault fart?
Framing is the game.
Yes. Haha.
Assault rifles (by definition) have been widely available to the public (Sears) since around 1905. (Remington) Some 25 years before the military adopted the widespread use of auto loading rifles. It took some 80 years for them to become a problem. We all know what the problem is. Just like health care, our government focuses on treating symptoms not the disease.
Thanks for the history lesson.
"Assault" describes an action, not an object.
Correct.
Great points to be made.....Another example of media making stuff up and people not doing the research for themselves.
Takes a brain dead to do that. Sorry haha.
My pellet gun be an assault weapon if used as such.
Cleavers, saw, pitcchfork too. Yes.
