Here’s a Photoshop view of how far our Indiana hero was from the mall shooter when he terminated him.

8/10 hits at a moving target at 40 yards by a novice shooter seems pretty incredible to me. Besides skill he would also need a quality gun and optic at that distance .
Ya. 8/10 would still be good at 20 yards.
I literally just returned from a concealed carry class - state requirement no matter what. I was with lots of new shooters and watchign them shoot at 9', 15', and 21'. Pretty much everyone was inside the silhouette wit, h a few fliers. I, of course, shot the "star" out of the middle. That said, if those targets were pushed out to 75' (25 yards), I'd be surprised if anyone could have gotten off 8/10 shots in 15 seconds against a moving target.
It might take me a practice round or two, but I'm pretty sure I could replicate the shots, if I were carrying a large frame, quality gun, with a reflex site. Sig, Stacatto, even a the right Glock would do it.
Not seeing how a newb did this, unless the kid was a shooter his whole life.
I'll throw this fantasy out there - what if "hero" is a mirage, and actual shooter was an operator placed there to take out the situation?
