Not really. The government that was in power (Rajapakshas) were just as globalist as the current president.

The uprising intended to clean out the Rajapakshas and all political dynasties. The government just pulled a fast one on the people and replaced the Gota with Ranil in a (as we call it) "deal".

I have no idea what will happen here.
