Why do people keep saying this? What would stop anyone from releasing documents and videos immediately?

I know. This line of logic does not make any sense. Maybe a nobody would have to do something like a lawsuit for attention, but trump has his entire media empire with his own social network. He could just post it…. Like he did. Waiting for a lawsuit is not necessary.

When something becomes a matter of law, it cannot be ignored, at least theoretically, if not practically. It makes sense, legally. Much in the same way that companies would rather settle out-of-court, with NDAs and farcically massive quantities of money, rather than run the risk of establishing foot-shooting legal precedent.

Companies require NDA’s and use gag orders to keep information from becoming public. Trump could have made this information public a long time ago. Sure, CNN can’t ignore the lawsuit and will likely want to settle. This has no bearing on the criminal status of election fraud. It is a civil lawsuit
