The hit and run is bad enough as it is. Having watched the video, the cyclist is a bona fide Darwin award nominee: Running a red light, looking in the opposite direction (his left) from where the one way traffic is flowing... he never saw the SUV coming at him.
You are correct. I did mention right off the bat that the hit and run was bad. I could have added it also was inexcusable, no matter how bad the cyclist behaved.
Yeah...I would have stopped even if it was a deer that ran into the side of me...But I can't help but see the guy on the bike literally looks like the NPC poster child...so I feel bad...but not that bad
I watched the vid a few times myself. Looked to me like the cyclist was making a left hand turn at the intersection.
I don't know how the lights work in that foreign land of N. Jersy, but where I live, all traffic is stopped by redlight and then the green goes for left hand turners. If this was the case, we wouldn't be able to see the green for the turners because of the angle of the camera. And it would explain why the cyclist was watching for traffic in a particular direction, assuming as we all do that the cross traffic was red light stopped.
Like leftists everywhere, drivers/riders turning left gotta have it speshul just for them.
An actual video shows the cyclist ran a red light. Of course the SUV driver should have stopped, but Bike Guy is an idiot. In some places in NJ bikes, scooters, motor bikes, and where I live even powered skateboards, are allowed in car lanes. It is insane. Some towns have signs for cars to "share the road". Now state officials (officially morons), are wondering why there are so many bike and pedestrian accidents involving cars. Nothing like driving behind some entitled jerk on a bike doing ten to fifteen MPH while traffic backs up for miles.
I bet she was under the influence. That's why she didn't stop. And she knows being a Democrat in office. She's on the opposite tier of the justice system than the peasant she hit.
Honestly, as an NJ resident, this is normal. We moved here from PA a couple years back and I am astounded at how ridiculous people drive. I know it's pretty much every state, but the amount of drifting, red light running and just plain disregard for human life has been something that caught me off guard.
Just to add on to my other comment, we do head to sea girt a couple times a year and the traffic during the summer was the biggest reason we didn’t wind up moving to a shore town
Did she really? Can't tell from a photo or the 8 second video. And there may be good reasons to leave the scene as long as she reported the accident to police promptly. Like if she felt in danger that could a good reason to leave. People have been attacked at vehicle accident scenes.
The crime is leaving the scene of an accident. Doesn't matter if it was not her fault when she left, she committed a crime. Had she stuck around there would have been no crime committed.
Indeed. He might have contributed to the accident, but what sort of human ignores someone they just hit with a 3,000 pound car and drives on? Not much of a human, that's for sure.
me thinks you are assuming what gobby is saying and assuming wrong. gobby refers to the leaving the scene of an accident part. not that cyclists are the antichrist. everyone knows they are in fact minor demons that need to be exorcised. just ask Jeremy Clarkson.
regardless of the who is at fault, it is a crime to leave the scene of an accident involving personal injury. if you hit a pedestrian or cyclist, you have to assume personal injury until it is investigated.

Wouldn’t you or I stop to check if the person is alright? Yes, any decent person would stop.

Yeah... like driving in Ireland!
THIS!!! 😂

As a NJ native, you know we blame PA and NY drivers for this (KEK). I live in a resort town, and summers here are hellish on the roads.
Just to add on to my other comment, we do head to sea girt a couple times a year and the traffic during the summer was the biggest reason we didn’t wind up moving to a shore town
Yup... GTFO of the left lane PA shoebies 🖕😂
KEK. In my area they're known as Bennies. Mostly Northern NJ and NY. Don't get so many Shoebies here.
All I know is I go back to PA and I can breathe on the roads again. That said I’m frequenting 295 which is my nightmare

Cyclist ran a red light.
As a leader in the community she should have stopped and checked if he was ok, instead she left the scene
And???? Who the fuck hits a bicycle and doesn’t stop to check on them?
By law in Most states you have to stop or it's a hit and run,

You are the problem.

Exactly. Thanks for being a decent human. One wouldn't think that was too much to ask .. but ...

Lol.
I'd run you over too if you ran a red in front of me.
To be fair, that's only because you're evil.

Maybe so, but that could still be the lesser evil. People have been murdered after vehicle accidents.
so then change the law, dont make exceptions for the ruling elite. No Man is Above the Law.
