These "training" thunderstorms happen, on occasion. But I am starting to wonder a bit more seeing this yet again. I've watched the radar light up with 8+ hours of constant returns over the same areas repeatedly. When the NWS issues these flood warnings they say 1-2" more can be expected, then more and more thunderstorms continue to develop on the trailing end.
Humidity built up in the afternoon here in the midwest region. Whenever it does this, we can see this happen. But to see it hit the same damn region repeatedly? They already called the St. Louis / Western KY event a 1 in 1000 year event. How about two in the last week?
It simply keeps forming over Central Illinois, like a machine. The radars don’t look right - It is very weird! Many trees are being uprooted with minor flooding in southern Indiana along with many power outages. He who controls the weather….
