Well I feel vindicated now about being unvaxx'ed, but I refuse to gloat over it. We all made our choices, and we all have to live (or die) with them. Just last night at a meeting I was asked by a guy who rarely shows up at these meetings, "So have you had all your shots for covid?" I just said, Hell no, I wouldn't put that shit in my body. He was quite surprised at that but quickly dropped it.
But for the most part, I just live my life and don't lecture others on what they SHOULD or SHOULD NOT have done. I take no satisfaction in the multiple side-effects that friends and family have suffered from the vaxx'es... one had a TIA brain event and still has a loss of some fine motor skills; another who is morbidly obese now has trouble getting up and down stairs; still others seem to "get covid" with alarming regularity, despite being vaxx'ed and boosted repeatedly.
They apparently have not made the obvious connection between having the vaxx'es and booster, and having subsequent medical problems. They also cannot make the connection between me being unvaxx'ed and being in good health. Most of them are fairly bright people, they are just indoctrinated without knowing they are indoctrinated.
Back a couple of decades ago, whenever I saw someone doing something stupid and getting injured (or dead) because of it, competing for the Darwin Award, I used to say "Well, life ain't for everybody." That's how I have to look at folks who lined up and got their vaxx'es like the government told them to. And I just shake my head.
I agree with your thoughts on gloating.
When we say "I told you so," we're not helping the suffering folks at all. All we're doing is building back our own egos and allowing our pride to show.
To each his own, but I'm going the way of compassion. So many people in my family have taken the vax and will suffer the dire consequences associated with it. I don't relish the idea of being the "last man standing". My family have never been nasty to me, but have acted out of fear and self-preservation. I am going to help them as much as I can.
And then there are those among my (former) friends who have ostracized me. I can't contact them anymore, so that will just not be an issue for me.
