Seriously. I get set off by far less. My neighborhood has lots of little kids, a group of them are learning-to-bike-ride age. All in helmets, even the one with training wheels (another abomination that if parents only researched, but anyway).
It's like are you fucking serious? I never wore a helmet for shit until I started motorcycling. I NEVER ONCE heard of a kid EVER having brain injury from bicycle crash, we all rode around and crashed and whatever. These kids all just look retarded frankly.
They are all being indoctrinated to be afraid of everything, never take chances, don't figure things out for yourselves, follow the Rules, etc.
Edit: For those that think I care and replied accordingly: bicycle helmets are actually a highly controversial topic for adults once you start researching them. I'm not here to debate every single thing however.
Edit 2: More piling on LOL. Ignorance is fun I guess. How's your mask fitting?
70s-80s. Yes I watched the transition shaking my head even then.
My parents never had the cops called for letting us run around on our own, even in this huge undeveloped thing (which today would be an "open space") full of its own interesting hazards, for that matter....
Lol…there were generations who grew up without bicycle helmets. I don’t know of any kid or any story of a kid or even on the news of a kid who got their head hurt/brain injury riding a bicycle.
Like I say I can't debate everything, but "prudent" is debatable anyway - for a couple reasons "imprudent" may even be applicable.
Edit: Speaking of broken bones, so one kid is learning inline skates. Helmet, knee/elbow pads...good grief, how bad is this kid gonna be off when he actually gets scraped or something? He'll probably fucking die!
Right? Occasionally getting hurt was a right of passage. Most times we tried to patch ourselves up and hide it from mom. If you had a cast, you were royalty for a time..lol.
These later generations have no idea what it was like to be free as children. No computers, no phones, just gone all day as long as you were home at dusk.
I have many happy memories of dirt clod fights with the neighbors and bb gun wars. Both hurt when you get hit…but so much fun.

I never bothered to research them, but we didn't wear them in the 70's and none of our kids wore/wear them when they came out with them bcz they look RETARDED. I ride every night and never see anyone else riding or jogging like they used to. Do you think ppl are gonna be scared of having a heart attack?

I wore helmets all the time growing up and still always do whenever I go cycling. Why the hell wouldn't you wear protection for your head, where your damn brain is. Human heads are fragile like melons if hit the wrong way, not to mention possibly concussions. It's just basic common sense and good practice to wear a helmet, ESPECIALLY for kids still learning to ride the bike, still unsure or not totally practiced like an adult may be, children not always being the most coordinated creatures. What a damn stupid thing to get upset about... Kids wearing bicycle helmets is the end of civilization?
You wore helmets all the time growing up… lolol…tells me everything I need to know.
By your reasoning, we should put all babies and toddlers in helmets until they get coordination, learn to walk and can then ride a bike thru an obstacle course.
Nobody wore helmets for anything when I was growing up. They weren't even required for motorcycle riders back then. I learned to ride a bicycle in my back yard on the grass. Coordination comes quickly. If it doesn't, maybe bike riding isn't for you. We are having the worst collections of genes survive to adulthood and reproduce. Pretty soon, the average IQ will be way, way below 100. BTW, not a single kid in my part of NC was ever killed by falling off a bicycle.
Kids being completely padded up so they never experience anything is a sign of the end of civilization for sure.
As I said, I'm not arguing everything. And I am NOT a moron.
Edit: Airbags are fucking retarded btw. As you can tell I am no stranger to controversy....
Edit 2: I actually think people that ride bicycles on roads are morons, but there seem to be many that accept the risk. I'd MUCH rather be on a motorcycle, you aren't just a sitting duck then. I restrict my bicycling to trails other than short bits of road to get to them as required, personally.

You must have grown up in the 60’s. Every kid I knew in the 90’s wore helmets.

Yes, I do believe we were the last generation that grew up free…as in free range.
Remember all the kids hopping in the back of pick up and going everywhere…all day long.
Man I miss those days. We played ball in the street stayed outside until dark went fishing ND camping. Life was so much better.
I walked to school when I was five years old, a long distance from the project through a bad part of town to the school. This was in the late 50s.
I remember exploring the foundation holes when I was 6-7 years old. It was a subdivision with a strip of woods behind our houses.
Looking back I don’t think parents would let a pack of 6-7 year olds run around anymore.

I wore a helmet as a kid. It's prudent. The mask thing is ridiculous, but helmets is a no brainier. I've had a helmet save my life multiple times.
Prudent? Maybe we should wrap you in a bubble.

Broken bones…now thats a different story.
For the hundred and first time. Just yesterday
If I wasn’t wearing my bike helmet
I’d be still knocked out on the ground
Helmets ⛑ are absolutely a necessary part of CRAZY BIKING
Fine, but I'm talking about REGULAR BIKING

"scared" - dunno - I wonder if the riding/jogging has died down because they ... are we still doing "phrasing"?
This is just fucking retarded. Please go bike around NYC without a helmet, do us a favor.

BAAAAM!!!
Kids in your neighborhood ride bikes?
All the kids around me just sit inside on tablets and shit
