My wife worked for a bankruptcy attorney in Bentonville Arkansas about 15 years ago and Walmart did the same thing then. Called for a "tightening of the corporate belt" and let quite a few of low level headquarter's employees go. She says this is nothing new, but any news is good publicity for them. Non story because all companies, except the Post Office, is letting folks go. I bet if you look at the total number of Walmart employees today, August 4 and then compare those numbers on August 4, 2023 there will be a rise in total employees and I would even bet the numbers will increase at the corporate level.
