What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
I'm back and forth on my state of Alabama on the poll. Want to downvote because our Governor is a RINO (Ivey), she hates non-vaxxers, spends our tax money on shit only she wants (I'm sure to line her own pockets) like the property she bought for jails when our state already had land for new jails and the I-10 Bayway Toll project she keeps pushing. She kept pushing the mask mandate further and further during the plandemic. I believe they cheated for her during the primaries. Some of our representatives are ok, made some bad choices at times but not sure there was others better to take their places at the time. Without a lot of people backing new upcoming politicians from the beginning it's hard to get them out in front of people, especially when the politicians that have been around awhile out do them with money and back scratching.
And I know everyone has to pay a crap load of taxes wherever they live, but our taxes are getting out of control in my opinion. Tax you for everything, and the sales tax can be slightly different in each town. We pay (besides federal) state tax, sales tax (9.5% up to 10% around my area) even on food, gas tax I believe just went up again also, every kind of property tax (home or vehicle), now they are adding another "penny tax" to homeowners for the schools (seems like every year they add more taxes to homeowners for schools) but then parents who have kids in public schools have to pay a registration fee per child along with other class fees. And now that all our properties have been valued higher, that's more they can tax us on our homes.
With all that said we do like living here, out of all the places we have lived (6 places/areas, 4 different states) we like it here the most, though we wish we could get out of a neighborhood and more in the country, right now we just can't afford it and don't know if we ever will be able to, to be honest.
Some of the communities/people here are some of the nicest/friendliest, people will come together to help their neighbor or a neighbor/friend/family of someone they know. Communities here will stick together and back each other up. Though just like other states, there are areas where the people are only out for themselves. I can say though here in the south, don't mess with people's families or second amendment.
Sorry so long of an explanation, but some things here are good and others not so good, but I imagine that can be said about any state.
