Do you think telling your child that there is no Santa Claus while all the kids in their school believe there is will create more psychological problems or less? Do you think that will affect their social skills? Do you think that that would cause division and problems with their classmates?
I get what you are saying but many of us remember our own feelings when we were young. Finding out there was no Santa and that my parents loved me so much they wanted to give me a wonderful over the top time of year, to give and get absolutely no recognition for the giving, so much so that they stayed up into all hours building bicycles and the like, is not exactly the same as finding out 9/11 was almost certainly an inside job. Not saying some people had a different reaction to being "lied to," but that was mine.
I found the truth. I hope you do as well.

You don't have kids, do you?
