This is exactly what they did to my husband in January of this year. He went to ER for SOB and was Diagnosed with double pneumonia. They did a COVID19 test that they said was positive. Admitted him and I was unable to see him for 10 days. By then they had done whatever they wanted as I wasn’t there to advocate for him. Tried to find an outside advocate but none available for months, that’s how busy they were. It’s heartbreaking.
I am so sorry that you both had to suffer through this atrocity. The only good that has come out of this is that the evil underbelly of the medical establishment has been exposed. God bless you.
In the past 5 years I have had several experiences at for profit hospital as well as the Veterans Administration Hospital. At the for profit hospital I felt like a prisoner who had to follow orders; at the VA (New Haven, CT) I felt like I had a voice and the docs/nurses actually wanted to help. Also at the VA the staff was extremely helpful and attentive, at the profit hospital staff was definitely overworked understaffed and had little time for compassion.
This is long , but well worth the read. If you put a flair up, that might draw more attention to this worthy post. Under the story, you should see buttons for share, save, hide, etc. authors have an additional 'flair' button. Click the flair button, choose your flair, and save. (With my computer, I shrink the zoom to 90% because the dropdown menu is too large to click 'save' otherwise.
I had experience with this 25 years ago. Three friends began having multiple health issues hit them in their late 30's, early 40's. All three - Heart. Pulmonary. Autoimmune. Pain disorders. Diabetes. and Cancer, and more. All three were given 18 to 24 months to live. Two had Dr's go the standard path: Standard health protocol/practice per issue. The third had a Dr that chose a tailored healthcare path that took into consideration all the issues AND their interactions - meaning some of the treatments for a specific issue (e.g., Cervical Cancer) were NOT the recommended path (hysterectomy and synthetic hormones for life.) The first two were gone within 2 years. The third, my best friend, is healthier today than 25 years ago.
The healthcare for an individual doesn't always fit the standard ICD (International Classification of Diseases) recommendation. Hospitals and healthcare facilities hide behind ICD for cost (read that as "liability") reasons. That may still be in the best interest for most individuals - but not all.
Unfortunately this doesn't shock me in the slightest.
I refused all medicial suggestions myself after my cancer diagnosis. (Got the removal surgery due to internal bleeding but that's it).
Everyone i know who followed the drs were dead at the 18mth-2year mark, some as early as 6 mths. Its bloody awful.
Even prior to convid everyone needs an advocate.
I'd be dead if not for fam.
And then once I got the life threatening surgery, I'd probably be dead if I wasn't a stubborn ass b1tch for refusing further treatments they tried forcing.
These people are brutal!
