"In the case of President Bill Clinton’s former national security adviser Sandy Berger, the violations involved stuffing classified material into his pants and socks to remove them from the archives and to retrieve them later. Berger was spared any jail time and allowed to plead to a misdemeanor. He did not even loss his security clearance permanently and was given a three-year suspension. Likewise, General David Petraeus was accused of giving access to classified information to his alleged lover and was also given a generous plea." https://ussanews.com/2022/08/08/the-mar-o-lago-raid-and-sandy-bergers-socks/
“The story says the National Archives found the documents had classification markings on them. That doesn’t mean that they were not declassified. All previously classified documents have classification markings on them, it shows they used to be classified. ***It’s petty bureaucracy at its finest, government simpletons not following a president’s orders to have them marked ‘declassified.’ ***The president has unilateral authority to declassify documents — anything in government. He exercised it here in full,” he said.
Every time in the past they have tried to pull shit like this, they have ended up looking like fools. Member Eric Ciamarella?
Don't forget Sandy Berger and his socks:

This is what I was thinking, the docs he declassified before leaving, but weren't released. They try to use those and say they weren't.
